Avoca's Mike Stanley Recipient of IGHSAU's Jack North Award
    The Jack North Award is the highest honor the Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union awards to an individual. The award has been given just 15 times in the 87-year history of the IGHSAU. Mike Stanley of Avoca is the 16th recipient of the award.

Urbandale's Dan Davis Named Character Counts Coach of the Year    
   The CHARACTER COUNTS! Coach of the Year Award honors a worthy recipient who embodies the Six Pillars of Character®: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring & Citizenship. Rather than spotlight winning records and isolated acts of heroism or generosity, the award was conceived to recognize individuals whose coaching lives and achievements demonstrate an enduring commitment to any or all of the following qualities associated with good character.

Treynor's Gail Hartigan To Receive IGHSAU First Lady Award
   Treynor coach Gail Hartigan is the latest recipient of the prestigious Iowa Girls’ High School Athletic Union’s First Lady Award. Gail is just the 11th indiviudal to receive the award, which was first given in 1978. Hartigan will be honored Friday, March 6 at halftime of the Class 2A championship game.

March 15th – Bellevue ( Throws Clinic Info )
Winter Sports Camps offered by the University of Iowa track and field program for high school
athletes on Mar. 8 at the Iowa Rec Building.  The camp offers a wide variety of training clinics, including hurdles, sprints, throws, horizontal jumps, vertical jumps, and middle distance.  The Iowa coaching staff will assist participants in proper technique and mechanics, strength training, race strategy, and more.
