Kevin Kearney - South Winneshiek

I believe in lifting weights, However I also believe that the best way to become a better runner is to run more. We focus all lifting on upper body and on Hamstrings. We lift 3 days per week for 1st 4 weeks. We lift two days per week for next 4 weeks. We lift once per week for next two weeks and we do not lift during last 2 weeks. I emphasize stretching before and after running. We stretch as a team. We also do various exercises such as toe-raises to help prevent shin splint problems. In addition, we do 50 push ups and 100 sit ups as part of our daily warm up.
